Julie Moscato is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO and an Intern Associate at Sarah Terwilligar & Associates Counselling & Psychotherapy (STACP).
With over 10 years of experience in the public sector and nearly four years of experience as a mental health practitioner, Julie specializes in working with women facing challenges related to work-life balance, life transitions, identity, self-worth, relationship / marital problems, sexual assault/ abuse, partner abuse, anxiety, and depression. She possesses a deep understanding of narrative therapy and mindfulness approaches, ensuring comprehensive support for individuals facing diverse mental health challenges.
Julie is known for her expertise in narrative therapy and mindfulness, demonstrating a remarkable track record of empowering clients to achieve meaningful progress. She led a significant review of the Halton Police Service’s handling of sexual assault cases, resulting in strengthened practices and policies to support survivors. Her work has been praised for its empathy, active listening, and survivor-focused approach, leading to positive changes and client satisfaction.
Julie holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Brock University, a Master of Arts in Criminology from the University of Toronto, and she is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Additionally, she has completed the 5-Day Brief & Narrative Therapy Certificate Program from Windz Brief Narrative Therapy Training and is a Non-Vocational Biblical Counsellor Certification from the Association of Biblical Counsellors.
Julie is an active student member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. She remains engaged in continuous education, enriching her practice to better serve clients and contribute to the broader mental health community.
