More About Athem

Life can be challenging, and it’s easy to feel lost or overwhelmed when facing difficulties such as trauma, stress, an eating disorder, or a major life change. As a therapist, I believe in meeting you where you are, focusing on your strengths, and understanding the unique stressors you’re navigating—whether it’s the emotional toll of past trauma or PTSD, the pressures of being a first responder, the complexities of adjusting to life in an immigrant community, or the challenges of managing an eating disorder. I’m here to help you make sense of it all, providing support as you work through relationship struggles, daily stresses, or any other challenges you face. Together, we will explore how to overcome these obstacles and build a path forward.

I take a client-centered approach, which means you are at the heart of our work together. I believe that everyone has the ability to heal and grow, and it’s my job to help you tap into that potential. I tailor my approach to fit your individual needs and goals, and I believe in supporting the systems around you that can help you succeed—whether that’s your family, your work, or your community. Together, we will work to strengthen your resilience, and I’ll always focus on your personal strengths to guide our work.

I believe that therapy should be a safe, judgment-free space where you can be your authentic self. Creating a supportive and empowering environment is at the core of my approach. I work to make sure you feel heard and valued, where your voice is the most important part of our time together.

Beyond my professional experience, my personal life also shapes my approach to therapy. I am a lifelong learner, deeply connected to nature, and I find joy in the simple things—a quiet walk in the woods, a sunset, or a moment of gratitude. I genuinely care about the people I work with and strive to bring that same sense of appreciation and connection into our work. I’ll always remind you that you are supported, and I’m here to walk alongside you every step of the way.
